Final day in Kosovo

Community center for Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian minority groups in Kosovo. Our host, Borot, has opened this center in an attempt to educate and integrate them into Kosovo society.

Surprise, surprise... We added a fifth country to our mission trip, Albania!

Kosovo Camp Day 1

First day of camp was amazing. We had about 200 students show up in late elementary and middle school. We had half in VBS activities and half in baseball camp. Baseball in Kosovo does not exist. Kids do not even know how to put on a glove, run bases or get an out. We started with kickpen today to teach basics since they play soccer.

Of course I picked out a favorite. She was in the young group and named Gabriella. She has potential and followed instruction well.

Day 2 in Kosovo

School and location of baseball camp

Lunch in the woods

Steak with over easy fried egg, French fries and rice... I say YES!

Memorial for Gjokave citizens who were killed by Serbian military during 1998-99 invasion.

Bodies were returned from mass Serbian graves to this memorial.

Top row - father and three sons were killed. Fourth son was killed as well and he was only 14. These killings occurred March 27, 1999.

After the memorial, we actually visited the mother of the family of men from above. It was extremely moving and difficult.

Nice view to take our mind off memorial.

Dinner: all dinners are six courses. I will show all courses tomorrow.

Please be in prayer for camp which starts tomorrow.

International Fellowship #2

We attended an international fellowship in Kosovo this morning. It was another great experience.

Kosovo Day 1

We arrived in Kosovo around lunchtime. It was a good flight but interesting drive as the infrastructure of this nation is lacking. The van driver showed me a house still standing with tons of bullet holes from the war. I hope to get a picture if we drive back by it later in the week. Our living quarters are nice and the team is really coming together. We have church and planning tomorrow and the camp starts Monday. Please be in prayer for the planning as things change quickly here.

Relax Day in Austria

Return to Austria

We returned to Austria today. We met a few more of the team members who will be traveling to Kosovo with us on Saturday. Here are a couple,of pictures go a baseball club in Austria. The larger, bald headed man is Manfred, the leader of this particular club.
