Yak and Dairy Queen

It has been an adjustment this week leaving sunny, warm Thailand for cold, hazy Chengdu. Brynn and I have gotten back into a routine at home and Matt had a short week at school leaving for a basketball tournament Thursday. We are expecting him home late tonight.

Brynn and I had a fun Saturday. We met up with some friends this morning and we took the train then subway downtown to eat at a traditional Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately is was closed, but we got the try a nearby Tibetan restaurant. I have never tried Tibetan food and was a little nervous. Our group of about 20 swished around our table and enjoyed a feast of Tibetan dishes beginning with some yummy milk tea. The first dish was a yak, potato and some green veggies. It was really good. I have never had yak before and would describe it as tough beef. We also got a yak meat pie, stuffed green peppers and fried potatoes. I am so glad I gave it a try as it was all very good. It doesn't taste anything like Chinese food. I am hoping to take Matt back there one day. After lunch we headed across the street to Diary Queen where Brynn and I split an Oreo Blizzard. Brynn actually took over the spoon and was sweet enough to give her mom a few bites.

In baby news....we went to the doctor Tuesday and we are having a girl. The doctor was not positive, but feels that the baby is most likely a girl. We were also excited to hear that she is healthy and growing right on track. Poor Matt will definitely be outnumbered with three girls in his house!!!

Here are a few more of my favorite pics for our vacation: (if you haven't noticed already, we had a great time!)
She looks like such a big girl in this picture. She is going to be great big sister.

She was very insistent on having her sunglasses and hat on every time we went outside.

This sweet smile came after jumping in from the side of the pool.
